One Particular Harbour 2008
On June 28, 2008, the Dubuque Phlockers celebrated our 2-year anniversary and raised $6,375 for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa!
The Dubuque Phlockers, in conjunction with volunteer's from Kohl's department store and also from Make-A-Wish gathered together to produce another "party with a purpose" to the delight of 200 parrotheads from Dubuque and the surrounding communities. Our day began with a pre-party "pool-side" at the Day's Inn of Dubuque. Ground transportation (courtesy of 3 Guys and a Bus) delivered us safely to the Grand River Center located on the banks of the Mississippi River.
As the doors to our party at the Grand River Center opened, our guests were treated to the tropical, acoustical styling of Dubuque's own Pirate Over 50 who set the pace for all the fun our night had in store for us. Friends meeting friends... "It's a magic kind of medicine, that no doctor could prescribe."
The party continued as the Cedar Island Band took the stage and delivered their sound and energy to the conclusion of the party. The dance-floor was filled and toes were tappin'... "Like oils applied to canvas, they permeate through me."
