Meeting Minutes – February 22, 2007

Old Business

  1. Paradise In Peosta final numbers. The club grossed $560. Cleared $250. Good job everyone. It was a learning experience and lessons learned will be applied to the future events.

New Business

  1. Future Phlockings:
    • March Business meeting will be at Ron and Barb’s, Thursday 3/22/2007 at 7pm.
    • Next Social meeting is Sunday March 4th at the Dog House Lounge. Al Ronek is playing there from 4pm to 8pm
    • Business Meeting at Ladd’s house July 21, time TBD, in honor of the Chicago concert and as a prep for Alpine Valley the following weekend.
  2. Concert News:
    • Ladd contacted people through the PHIP grapevine and was assured that the club SHOULD be eligible for tickets this year for Alpine Valley! (Much cheering by everyone) He does not know how many. (At the time of this writing, he has been allotted 8 tickets for the Club.) Brief discussion about purchasing tickets and Kim requested anyone to try for tickets for her bus people, she would be greatly appreciative.
  3. Summer Events:
    • April 14, Madison I Shot Six Holes in My Freezer Party
    • Opening of the Yard Arm, Late March/ early April, tentatively set the April Social for the Yard Arm if open, Fat Tuesday’s as the alternate.
    • Jamming below the Dam Beach Party in Bellevue, June 22. Discussion on camping at Spruce Creek and having a gathering. Further details as they become available.
    • Family Bowling Day May 5th, Bowling and Beyond. Afternoon of bowling with family. 3pm. Please let Laura know ASAP if you plan on participating so lanes can be reserved.
    • Dubuque Humane Society Grand Pet Excursion, June 10. Requested the Club to be a sponsor, we cannot afford that at this time. Tabled for later discussion.
    • Galena Triathlon, May 19. Volunteers to work along the route, Club earns $ for each volunteer per shift worked, minimum of 4 volunteers to work a 5 hour shift to be listed as an organization. Other volunteers not already assigned to a group may designate us to receive their monies as a donation. Ladd made a motion to help at this event, Laura Seconded, Motion passed.
    • Music at the Meadows August 3, 2007 Possible opportunity to help, tabled until more information is available.
    • Econofoods/Walmart Grilling for dollars. Bob will investigate further on working the brat booth for a few hours on a Saturday. Club would get to keep any profit made after purchasing supplies.
  4. Motioned by Ladd, second by Kim, motion passed 9-0. Adjurned 8:15 pm.
