Meeting Minutes – August 23, 2007

The Dog House

Meeting called to order at 7:03 p.m.

In Attendance

Ladd Nelson, Bob Noel, Jeff Sanderfield, Chris Sanderfield, Ron Markus, Barb Markus, Laura Schauer, Marianne Krause, Bill Steppan, Al Ronek

Old Business

  1. Discussed our 501(c)(7) and the plan to finish this up sometime in September.
  2. Treasurer (Jeff) noted that he had transferred monies from PayPal into our club account.
  3. Discussed t-shirt sales: Ladd noted that we had sold half of the t-shirts. Therefore, at our next business meeting, treasurer will have checks ready at 50% of original funds given by board members to make initial purchase of t-shirts.
  4. Motion by Jeff, second by Bob to pay Ladd for his incurred expenses of postage for mailing out OPH “Thank You” letters. Motion passed 9-0

New Business

  1. Discussed beach clean-up (likely clean-up Bellevue and 9-mile beaches). Motion by Ladd, second by Laura to hold the beach clean-up on Saturday, Sept 22. Motion passed 9-0
  2. Discussed planning a “Phlock Through the Lock” to benefit the Dubuque Humane Society. Dates, times, activities, prizes, and specials discussed with Marianne from the American Lady. Motion by Ron, second by Ladd to plan a “Phlock Through the Lock” for Sunday, October 7th, 2:30-5:30pm to benefit the Dubuque Humane Society. Motion passed 9-0
  3. Ron shared that he has three different events that the Dubuque Humane Society is holding that they would like for our club to participate in as judges or to help during the event with other duties.
  4. Ladd is working on updates to our website.
  5. Discussed our September social and business meeting. Motion by Ladd, second by Jeff to hold our social on September 6th at Captain Jack’s at Midtown. If Captain Jack’s will not be open, move the social to either the Yardarm or Catfish Charlies. Motion passed 9-0
  6. Motion by Ladd, second by Ron to hold our business meeting on September 19th at the Lux Club. Motion then amended by Ron (with Ladd’s approval) to move the business meeting to Bob’s basement. Motion passed 9-0
  7. Discussed having our October social on the 11th and our October business meeting on the 25th.

Motion by Jeff, second by Ron to adjourn. Motion passed 9-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:58pm.
