Meeting Minutes – September 19, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:24 p.m.

Old Business

  1. The beach clean-up is Saturday, September 22. See the website for more details.
  2. Discussion of supplies needed for the beach clean-up. Bob will get the garbage bags.
  3. Discussion of the upcoming Pet-O-Ween. Decided to discuss this further at our October meeting.
  4. Discussion of volunteers needed for upcoming events. See the website/emails for more details.
  5. Went over the treasurer’s report. Motion by Bob, second by Ladd to donate $500.00 plus any supplies donated during the Phlock Through the Lock to the Dubuque Humane Society. Motion passed 6-0
  6. Discussion of membership renewals for 2008 and how to handle these.
  7. Motion by Ladd, second by Bob to not hold a business meeting in November and to hold the social on November 15 at the Lux. Motion passed 6-0

New Business

  1. Phlock Through the Lock:
    • Ron will get with Mark to see about getting Corona items.
    • Al says that he will donate his playing time for the cause. “Thanks Al! We and the Dubuque Humane Society appreciate your generosity!!”
    • The Rockford group may be able to get a centrifuge to bring.
    • Bob is going to talk with Charlie about dinner discounts for those on the cruise.
    • Marianne is running 40 spots for the Phlock Through the Lock. She wanted to know if we had a preference between 106.1 or WGLR. Discussion on this. Motion by Jeff, second by Ladd to tell Marianne that we would like her to use 106.1 for the spots. Motion passed 6-0
    • 60 plus people are signed up for Phlock Through the Lock.
    • Bob and Ron are working on baskets for the cruise.
    • Discussion of having a TV and DVD player going and to have coloring books from the Dubuque Humane Society for the kids on the cruise. Motion by Ladd, second by Jeff to purchase two Disney movies to be used as a door prize drawing for any kids that turn in a picture that they colored. Motion passed 6-0

Motion by Jeff, second by Ladd to adjourn. Motion passed 6-0. Meeting adjourned at 8:44 pm.
