Meeting Minutes – December 08, 2007

The Lux Club

Meeting called to order at 4:10pm.

Old Business

  1. Paradise in Peosta: Al Ronek not at meeting... we will need to get information from him. Ladd will contact Al.

New Business

  1. February 11, 2008 is the launch of Land Shark Lager for the Dubuque area. Kirchhoff Distributing is asking us to be ambassadors to help promote/support this product. Apparel will be coming out soon.
  2. Margaritaville Foods will send items to clubs for fundraising efforts. We may possibly do a beach/camping cookout (maybe ask the Cedar Rapids group to go together in the Monticello campgrounds to raise funds).
  3. Margaritaville Foods is having a contest to collect UPC labels from their boxes. With a minimum count of 100 labels we would be entered to win prizes in a drawing.
  4. Received an invitation for "Phins to the West" being held in Laughlin, Nevada, May 2-4, 2008. Contact Ladd if you would like more information on this.
  5. January 5-6, 2008 is the Jimmy "Buffet" weekend at Chestnut.
  6. 2nd annual OPH:
    • Primary date will be Saturday June 28th and back-up date will be Saturday July 12th.
    • We need to start early (around Feb) to start planning this.
    • We need to line-up committees.
    • We need to talk to the YardArm about the dates.
    • We will contact the Cedar Island Band about playing again.
    • We need to look into transportation for attendees again this year.
    • Many other things to work on for our annual fundraiser. We will discuss this further at our January business meeting.
