Meeting Minutes – January 24, 2008
Dog House
Meeting called to order at 7:00pm.

Old Business
- Motion by Ladd, second by Laura for the club to pay for the remainder of the club t-shirts (at cost) to allow reimbursement to those members that contributed monies for the start-up costs of the shirts. Motion passed 11-0
- The club has applied for the City of Dubuque Anniversary Funds but we have not heard back if we have been awarded any of these funds.
New Business
- Motion by Ladd, second by Kim to hold our next social at Gin Rickey's on February 7th. Motion passed 11-0 See the club website for more information. On this evening Gin Rickey's is hosting the "Landshark Kickoff Party". There will be live music by "A Pirate Over 50" and you will be able to try Landshark beer even before you can buy it in local stores.
- Saturday, February 2nd is the Havanna Day Dreamin' party in the Quad Cities. Several club members indicated they will be attending this event.
- Saturday, February 2nd is the I Shot Six Holes in My Freezer party in Madison. Due to scheduling conflict with the Quad City party, we may not be able to make the Madison party this year.
- Saturday, February 9th is the Make-A-Wish Annual Banquet. We have some members volunteering to work but they need at least 4 more volunteers. If anyone wishes to volunteer for a VERY worthwhile cause, please contact Kim Maiers ASAP. Remember that if you work, you are eligible for 2 club points.
- Sunday, February 17th is the Dress For the Lua public skate at Five Flags. Skating is 3:00-5:00pm. There is a group rate for 10 or more of a ¢50 discount per person. The club will donate a box of plastic leis for this event.
- Friday, February 22nd is Paradise In Peosta at the Peosta Rec Center. Doors open at 7:00pm and the band will be playing 8:00-midnight. Tickets are $6 but you can get a $1 discount if you show up in something that is considered Hawaiian attire. Again this year, we are looking for volunteers to work. Contact Kim Maiers as she will be coordinating the volunteers.
- Saturday, February 23rd is the Island Beach Bash in Rockford. This is the Rockford area Parrotheads annual fundraiser. Tickets are for sale on-line.
- For OPH II Ladd needs someone to get on the Brett Favre website as they will donate items for auction/fundraisers. Jason volunteered to check into this.
- Anyone else that wants to check out other sites (i.e., Bears/Nascar/etc...) can do so. Please contact Janet as she will keep a list of where members are hitting for items. You will need to email her as to where you have been and what (if anything) you have gotten.
- Club member Bill Steppan is having an open house for his new business www.QuixTar.com this Saturday at his home in Dyersville 10:00am-2:00pm. He will then be holding an open house at the Fairfield 11:00am-3:00pm on Sunday. Contact Ladd Nelson for more info.
- DaVinci's Restaurant/Leo's Pub and Lounge holds a weekly parrothead night on Thursdays. They have karaoke 9:00pm-midnight. We will be holding our next business meeting at DaVinci's on February 21st.
