Meeting Minutes - March 20, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:13pm.

Old Business
- Discussion of OPH 2008 (no longer being called OPH II):
- Discussion of ticket pricing... motion by Ladd, second by Randy to make ticket prices $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and $120 for a reserved table of eight. Motion failed 3-9
- Motion by Jeff S., second by Ron to make ticket prices $12 in advance, $17 at the door, and $125 for a reserved table of eight. Motion passed 12-0
- Pre-party at the Days Inn. They are willing to work with the club on food for the pre-party. More discussion with the Days Inn is needed. Ladd will do this.
- Food at OPH 2008 will be handled through the Grand River Center.
- Al will be the opening act prior to Cedar Island Band. At this time, not sure if this will have to take place at the Days Inn pre-party or at the Grand River Center. Al willing to play either location. Al and Ladd checking on set-up for Al.
- Al or Ladd to check with the Cedar Island Band to find out their sets (time frame). Band will be ending at 11:30 as we must be out of the Grand River Center at midnight.
- Dance floor comes in several different configurations/sizes. Ladd will check with the Cedar Island Band to make sure that they do not have a minimum size that they require for them to play. Motion by Kim, second by Ron to make the dance floor 900 sq ft (if not in conflict with Cedar Island Band requirements). Motion passed 15-0
- Transportation... trolley is out. Janet will talk with the Diamond Jo about using their shuttle service.
- Discussion of raffle and silent auction items. We already have several items being donated by area businesses. Bob will chair the silent auction committee. If interested in participating on this committee, contact Bob.
- Bike Shack willing to sell us a bike at reduced price for a silent auction item. Motion by Ron, second by Jeff S. to buy a bike from the Bike Shack for our silent auction. Motion passed 15-0
- Koozies... Jeff H. has a contact for koozies. He will talk with him. Kim to handle the koozies and Nancy R. to help.
- Decorations discussed.
- Jeff S. to talk with Copy Systems about helping us out with the flyers, inserts for badges, and reserved table signs.
- Kirchoff Distributing providing us with 2 Land Shark beach chairs for beer sales. Discussion of how entries for the beach chairs should be handled.
- Motion by Ladd, second by Ron to donate 3 reserved tables for OPH 2008... one for bus captains, one for Al, and one for Kirchoff Distributing. Motion passed 11-1
New Business
- Ladd would like to see us possibly do a lawn ticket(s) give-away at the Yardarm this summer in conjunction with Kirchoff Distributing. We will look into this further.
- In need of volunteers (up to 10 total) for April 19th, 1-5pm, at Courtside to help with kids games for a fundraiser for another entity. Chris, Kim, Ron, Barb, Ladd, Brenda, and Randy volunteered. If you are also interested in helping, contact Ladd.
- Beach party will be held at the Monticello Campgrounds August 23rd. This will be a fundraiser for Camp Courageous. Ron, Barb, Bob, and/or Gina to provide more details later.
- Roberts River Rides wants to do a doggy river ride with us sometime this year. More information to come later.
- April 4th is the Yardarm Grand Opening. Come down that evening and join in the fun. Several Phlockers are planning on being there (including myself... treasurer Jeff S.).
- Jessica is reminded she needs to get in her membership application!!!!!

- Reminder that Thursday, April 3rd is our phlocking/social at Leo's pub in DaVinci's at 7:00pm. Come join in the socializing.
