Meeting Minutes – March 19, 2009

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm

Old Business

  1. OPH 2009:
    • Koozie and shirt order deadline is April 16th – must order a minimum of 250 koozies (color of koozies will be fluorescent green); Club is ordering 100 shirts at the cost of $8.25 per shirt (10 XXL; 35 XL; 35 L; and 20 M).
    • Any sponsors meeting the sponsorship requirement to be on shirt need to be submitted prior to April 16th.
    • Al contacted various sponsors, including four golf courses, and Gunthers. Al will donate a three hour show as a silent auction item.
    • Raffle prizes will be $500 cash (1st); $200 Galena Cash (2nd); and $50 cash (3rd). Raffle tickets shall be one for $1; six for $5; and twenty for $15.
    • Barb has event and raffle tickets.
    • Need to discuss name tags for volunteers and schedule for the evening (times of auction, raffle, etc).
  2. Marquee Advertising – Club shall place a dollar value of $75 for marquee advertising by each sponsor.
  3. Club has been issued its raffle license.
  4. Quilt – Cindy will provide a write up of information (including value) of the quilt. The quilt will be on display at the Community Booth in the Kennedy Mall on April 4th and 5th. Club is looking for a few more volunteers to fill the time slots. Please contact Ron if interested in this volunteer opportunity. Event and Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the booth.
  5. April 17th through 19th is the Regional Meeting near Chicago. Barb and Ron will be attending. If anyone is interested and needs additional information, please contact Barb or Ron.
  6. Galena Triathlon is scheduled for May 15th. Phlockers need a couple more volunteers – will be a four hour shift. Each volunteer will earn $20 for the club.

New Business

  1. Will discuss Club shirt at future meeting – possibly order matching club shirts for OPH 2010.

Upcoming Events

  • April Social will be held on April 4th in Maquoketa, Iowa at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Entertainment is Low Tides and HighWays. Cost is $10 per person. http://www.lowtidesband.com/shows.htm. Dubuque Phlockers may set up a booth at the event to sell tickets and promote our club.
  • May Social will be at Spirits and June Social will be at Yard Arm.
