Meeting Minutes – May 20, 2009

Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm

Old Business - OPH Wrap-up

  1. Totals from the event were discussed. After all expenses were deducted, a check for $8000 will be presented to Make-a-Wish of Iowa at a time to be announced. Ginny will make a few inquiries about possibly getting some publicity for the presentation.
  2. Discussion on improvements for next year, what worked and what didn't. 50/50 went well, sold lots of club merchandise.
  3. Thank you's need to go out in a timely manner. Ladd requests everyone to go to the website and update the donation spreadsheet with the items each business donated. He has set up the program to generate personalized thank you letters.
  4. Discussion at a later time on changing the charity for next year (possibly Albrecht Acres, Maria House).

  2. Shirts and logos were discussed, shirts can stil be ordered through Ron with the original logo.
  3. June Social will be held at Clarke College on June 13th. The Quad City Bike club's annual TOMRV rides into town. Ladd has managed to get the Phlockers invited to the Saturday night entertainment by the band, Low Tides and Hiways. This is only open to the participates of the ride, not to the public. More details as they become available, see the TOMRV home page.
  4. Barb suggested getting rid of the left over koozies from the last two events. They were divided up between the attending members and will be removed from the club's inventory. Barb motioned, Mike Bradley seconded, motion carries.
  5. There was a brief discussion on the term lengths of the board members. Tabled for a later discussion.
