Meeting Minutes – February 4, 2010

Spirits Bar and Grill

Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m.

Old Business

  1. Discussions regarding the March Social/Maria House fundraiser. Event will be held at Julien on March 3rd. Pirate over Fifty will be playing from 6:00 to 9:00. Club will donate $250 to Maria House. Club will distribute “wish list” outlining items for members/attendees to bring to social as donation items.
  2. OPH Discussions:
    • Representatives from Albrecht Acres (Deb and Randy) attended the meeting and discussed Camp Albrecht Acres along with what the camp does. Albrecht Acres will help sell OPH tickets and get word out about event.
    • Flyer was distributed for review. Suggested changes were discussed.
    • Paypal is set up so people can pay online.
    • Need to set raffle prizes and silent auction items. Are also going to do three or four live auction items.
    • Members should start to get donations ASAP – donations should be tracked on the spreadsheet, along with the contact person/address.
    • Meeting will be held Monday, February 8th at Grand River Center to look at location. Meeting will be held afterwards at the Julien.

New Business

  1. March Business Meeting will be held at Spirits on March 18, 2010.
  2. Discussions held about possible summer events:
    • Steve Cavanaugh to head beach clean up.
    • Mud Lake camping and cleaning of Albrecht Acres.
    • Camping at Walnut Acres.
  3. Possible Parakeet Events:
    • Bowling
    • Grand Harbor
    • Beach party Weekend
  4. Would like to do a Buffett Party for next social. Possibly hold April social on a Friday or Saturday.
  5. Chamber was looking at possibly doing a Buffett theme for their party and had asked if we had extra tickets for purchase to be used as a raffle item at the party.
