Meeting Minutes – May 20, 2010

Spirits Bar and Grill

Meeting called to order at 6:25 p.m.

Old Business

  1. Discussions held regarding the purchase of Tiki Bar. Based on club finances and other discussed items, motion was made by Kim to not purchase Tiki Bar. Motion seconded by Barb.

New Business

  1. Club is looking for warehouse space to rent. If anyone knows of space that could be obtained, let the board know.
  2. Upcoming volunteer opportunities including Galena Triathlon and "Kick Off to Summer" event were discussed.
  3. Discussions held about upcoming elections, including the open officer positions. Nominations will be taken at June Business meeting and elections will be held at July meeting. New board members will take office in August.
  4. June Social will be held on June 3, 2010, at 6:30 at the Other Side; June business meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 6:30, at Tony Roma's.
  5. Discussions held about possible summer events. A camping event, possibly in September, was discussed.
  6. Discussions held about OPH:
    • Donation – OPH raised approximately $8,000 this year. A motion was made by Ladd to increase donation to $8,100 and present to Albrecht Acres. Motion seconded by Jody.
    • OPH 2011 – Timeline handed out at meeting to prepare for next year's event. Also discussed possibility of changing logo and trying a new location (possibly Courtside). Discussions held about Committees.
  7. Discussions about the purchase of a light up Flamingo and light up Parrot for the Club. Barb made motion to purchase both items. Jan seconded motion. Cost of both flamingo and parrot is $128.38.
  8. Discussions that Club should set up table at local events so that we can display and promote membership.
