Setting Up FrontPage Express

FrontPage Express was originally installed/release with Windows 98 and then subsequently removed from the setup options of Windows 98 Second Edition. It was also part of the setup mechanism in Internet Explorer 5 but then subsequently removed from Internet Explorer 5.5 (if you do not have FrontPage Express, a Google Search will undoubtedly turn up a variety of download sites.

NOTE: You assume all risk, responsibility and liability should you choose to install software from the Internet. This document assumes that you may have already downloaded and installed FrontPage Express to the following folder location:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage Express"

Create a Shortcut to the fpxpress.exe Executable

  1. Use Windows Explorer to nagivate to the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage Express" folder.
  2. Continue to navigate to the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage Express\bin" folder.
  3. Right-click on the fpxpress.exe file and choose Send To → Desktop (create shortcut).

A FrontPage Express shortcut should be found on your desktop that can be optionally renamed to that shown below:
